Files Management
Documents relative to applying records management principles and techniques to filing practices in order to organize and maintain documentary materials properly, retrieve them rapidly, ensure their completeness, and make their disposition easier. This subject area may include materials on file designation, file layout, file plan, files improvement, files maintenance, filing systems, subject classification systems, subject-numeric filing systems, etc. (Source: http://www.epa.gov/records/gloss/)
A separate subject area is provided for storage which would include documents on the physical layout of, and standards for, the storage environment including, for example, information on shelving.
